Water polo is a game of endurance, strategy, strength and ability.  Players play in the deep water, treading water the whole time without touching the bottom or side of the pool.  The object is like many team sports, get the ball in the net.  Teams are made up of 6 field players and a goalie.  The game is 4 quarters with teams switching ends at half time. Players use plays, checks, picks and passes to move the ball towards the net with a 30 second shot clock running very much like basketball.  Like hockey, penalties or kickouts, are issued and players are giving power plays to then attempt to score on a man-up opportunity.  The game is physical and demanding but a whole lot of fun!

Water Polo is divided into five age categories as of December 31st of the same year
U12      11 years and under (2000+)
U14      12 & 13 years (1999 & 1998)
U16     14 & 15 years (1997 & 1996)
U18      16 & 17 years (1994 & 1995)
P5        18 years and over (1993+)
